Doing it again this year, as I've told several people so far. I wasn't able to do any writing on Saturday due to tabletop, which takes up the entire day, and Sunday I wrote way less than I'd hoped to. Got some feedback on it from a reader who's read the whole thing. Still has a problem with "unclear plot," with a side helping of "too many characters" and "not enough clarity." Finished the first volume of Crossed at 24 chapters and about 142,600 words. It'll require more drafts, not least of which because it needs trimming at the same time that I ought to expand on some of the world-building, and of course a large chunk of it is re-written from a previous draft so it'll need editing to ensure that everything agrees and ( Read more... )

At 40,380 for Sunken Kingdom and 30,051 for Lost Pleiad. I have written well over 50K words for this month (around 8335 just for today!), so I technically already "won" NaNoWriMo, but neither of these novels are complete, so for me it doesn't count, because the whole purpose of doing this was to complete a novel (or, well, a first draft of one). So I'm trying to come up with a compact word that means "emotion-eater"--like how "carnivore" means "meat-eater" and "herbivore" means "plant-eater."
